We Are MGroup™ – Interview with Brieanna Horseman

One of the characteristics that makes MGroup™ a successful company is our incredible employees in all areas of our business. Whether they are customer-facing or behind-the-scenes, MGroup™ would not be who we are today without them. One of those incredible employees is Brieanna Horseman, Rug Program & Development Designer.

Brieanna, who also goes by Brie, has been with MGroup™ for 2 years and is a staple to the MGroup™ family. She earned a degree in graphic communications and has a diverse work history which includes several years of experience in interior design. Brie oversees our beautiful Mpressions® Running Line Rugs and Custom Rugs from conception to delivery. She excels in taking custom design inspiration and turning her clients’ dreams into reality, and she puts her heart into every project. What is your role at MGroup™?

BH: I am the Rug Program and Development Designer for MGroup. In this role, I oversee the implementation of rug designs/specifications, development, and marketing objectives. I also lead and improve the development of rug procedures. Some of my daily tasks include overseeing all correspondence between clients, MGroup, and the factory, maintaining all financial obligations, and checking in on all rug projects in our pipeline. I provide pricing based on client specifications and ensure all shipments are delivered in a timely manner. Short and sweet version – I do all things rug-related from start to finish. If you have a rug question, I will definitely know the answer one way or another.

How did you end up working with MGroup™?

BH: I actually applied to work at MGroup as a project manager. After working at my last job for 3 years, I was bored with the monotony and wanted to do something a little different where I could grow. After I went through the interview process and everyone saw my background, I was hired into the marketing team as a graphic designer, then transitioned into taking over our Rug Program. I have loved the fast pace and abilities to showcase my talents that MGroup has allowed me.

How long have you been with MGroup™?

BH: I have worked for MGroup for a little over 2 years.

What do you enjoy most about working for MGroup™?

BH: I enjoy the diverse abilities my job allows. I am constantly getting to do something different and have the opportunity to branch out and constantly learn.

What is your experience and background?

BH: I graduated magna cum laude from Kennesaw State University with a Bachelor of Art in Graphic Communications. During my time in college, I was given the opportunity to work for a small residential interior design firm. Due to the firm being only the owner and I, I was able to expand my knowledge in every avenue of the interior design business. I assisted in every design project we took on and helped run the business. Once I graduated, I ended up at Rizzy Home, which is a textile company in Calhoun. My job there was being their creative guru. My colleague and I completed anything that needed to be done creatively. We revamped all of their marketing materials in our year there, photographed and edited 500+ rugs, designed a catalog, updated the studio space, coordinated all bedding sets, and began a second catalog. It was challenging work, but I learned so much from how to photograph products to tips and tricks within our design programs.

After 6 years in the Atlanta area, I missed my family and home. So, I moved back to Lagrange and got a job working for Interface. While there, I did several things. I worked in Custom Development recoloring and assisted in carpet designs. Next, I  assisted with floor plans and installation in Concept Design. Lastly, I specialized in their color accuracy for yarn and LVT.

I have been so lucky in every opportunity that I have had. Each experience has allowed me to acquire different skill sets which I constantly use throughout my day.

What is the most interesting thing you’ve done while at MGroup™ or something that was the most memorable about working at MGroup™?

BH: The most interesting opportunity that I have been given while working at MGroup is my trip to see our rug factories in China and India. It was one of the most incredible experiences. The culture that each rug holds makes my job even more special.
