As we begin 2022, we wish for hope, prosperity, and optimism, and with the effects of Covid-19 lingering, we could use some joy brought back into our lives. The official color of 2022, Pantone 17-3938 Very Peri, was specifically created to do just that and to reflect the innovation and transformation that is currently taking place in the world.
Gayle Hall began working at MGroup™ over five years ago and is a valuable part of our team! As a Contracts Administrator, Gayle is responsible for reviewing and revising contracts with clients and communicating the terms and legalities associated with the contract to the customer. She also mitigates risk for the company and is an essential part of ensuring we have seamless and easy negotiations between the company and the client. She seals the deals and our team would not be complete without her.
Kristin has been with MGroup for nine years and is a valuable part of the MGroup family. As Project Manager, Kristin is responsible for coordinating with our manufacturing team, account managers, and clients. She drives projects through pre-production, production, and delivery and provides clients the most seamless process. Our team wouldn’t be complete without her!
Christina has been with MGroup for four years, and with an extensive customer service and operational support background, she brings nothing less than excellence to the MGroup family. She manages one of the busiest departments in the company, Project Support. To improve our customers' experience, Christina inspired her team and worked diligently to streamline our process for bid requests resulting in faster completion rates. With Christina's hard work and outstanding management, she has become one of our greatest assets to the company.
If you’ve built a hotel, priced out a home renovation project, or even just tried to purchase a pair of jeans that were on back order over the last 12+ months, then you are intimately aware of just how tumultuous the impact of Covid-19 has been on the ocean container shipping market, and in turn, anyone that has been importing goods since the start of the outbreak.
Many will attest that they have never seen freight prices so high. Delivery dates are long, prices are skyrocketing, and there are areas of product shortages. Without being too political, many of these situations were on the horizon. Artificially high tariffs, dumping duties, and punitive charges against some countries, notably China, all create unnatural trade restrictions. Today, the industry is feeling the adverse effects. Government interference in trade rarely accomplishes anything tangible.
Despite the pandemic last year, hotel renovation projects were still in full swing in the United States. We often see that consumer preferences lean toward modern design while keeping some of the old charm and popular locations over new architecture. The COVID-19 pandemic was a catalyst for the increase in renovation projects, as hotels took advantage of low occupancy rates resulting in less guest disturbance. Renovating during the pandemic also allowed hotels to welcome guests back in a refreshing and exciting way.
